We are a friendly group of people who love to sing. We welcome new and casual singers any time of year and offer commitment-free flexibility for people to drop in as frequently, or infrequently, as it suits them. Bring a friend if you like, or come alone, as you will meet new people and make new friends. We also offer membership and term subscriptions for regular attendees.

FAQs
What precautions do you take against COVID-19?
Singing is a high risk activity for spreading COVID, so we keep a record of all attendees for contact tracing purposes. Singers are also welcome to wear a mask if they wish. You need to be fully vaccinated to attend and show your COVID vaccination certificate the first time you come. Anyone feeling unwell or displaying symptoms of a cold/flu/COVID is advised to stay home.
When do you meet?
We meet on Tuesday nights at 7.30pm to 9.30pm, during school terms.

Where do you meet?
We meet at Craftsman’s Corner, 313 Lygon Street, East Brunswick (corner of Anne Street). Choir will be held upstairs at the back of the bar. Please be aware here are two flights of stairs and no lift. Our apologies if this limits your participation.
What are your fees?
Casual: $20 per session ($15 with a valid concession card). Those paying the casual fee will also need to pay membership if they want to perform with the choir. Membership is $5 ($2.50 concession) for the term.
Subscription: $140 per term ($105 with concession card). This includes a $5 ($2.50 concession) quarterly membership fee.
NB: If you have already paid membership for the whole 2025/26 financial year, the term fee will be $135 (full) and $102.50 (concession)
We accept payment by EFT to our bank account (preferred) and cash at the door
What sort of music do you sing?
We sing original arrangements of pop, soul, jazz, world and folk music. Our musical director is a very talented arranger and musician who is able to source a wide variety of music for us. We do some songs that take several weeks to learn, and other songs that are short and easy enough to learn in a night.
How many sections/parts are there in the choir?
This depends on the song. Usually we sing soprano, alto, tenor and bass parts. You don’t have to sing the same part in each song and you are welcome to try out different parts to find what feels most comfortable for you.
Do you have visual guides for the music?
We use sheet music – scores with music notation and words – and occasionally lyric sheets. You don’t need to be able to read the music as our Musical Director teaches each part separately, so you learn by ear as well. Sheet music may be purchased at rehearsals and for new singers, we have copies you can borrow during rehearsal.
What performances do you do?
We do fun performances at weekend events like markets and festivals and occasionally hold our own gigs. While we primarily focus on learning and preparing music for performances, not everyone wants to perform and that is okay too. During lockdown we came together on Zoom so that we could continue to sing and did video projects instead. Do I have to audition or have sung in a choir before?
There is no audition and no music experience is required. Many of our singers, who are a variety of ages, had little to no experience when they joined us.
I’m nervous to sing beyond my bathroom, is this a safe space for me to be vulnerable and have a go?
Yes! Most of us started out pretty nervous too. But we’re a caring, inclusive and very social group who are all about helping each other out and having a laugh. It’s not about being a pop star, it’s about having a go, learning and having fun!
